Daily Announcements for 3/10/2017

Lee High Drama presents A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum this Friday (3/10) at 7 p.m. and Saturday (3/11) at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the LMHS auditorium. Tickets will be on sale during both lunches. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults. 

The 2017 Talent Show is coming April 13th!  There will be a meeting today (3/9) for anyone interested in participating after school in Mr. Trabka's room.

There will be Lee Live meeting Friday (3/10) at 11:30 in Mr. Fillio's room.

Haleigh Richardson & Erin Cook will be collecting donations for the Elizabeth Freeman Center starting Monday (3/13)!  There will be a box in the front hall.

Happy National Foreign Language Week!  If you are interested in participating in a scavenger hunt contest, see Madame Jarowski for a BINGO card.  There will be three prizes awarded.  Winners will be announced on Monday.

Fun fact #3 for National Foreign Language Week: 50% of educational time in high school in Luxembourg is devoted to learning English, German, and French.

There will be a boys’ and girls’ tennis meeting after school in the café today (3/9).

There will be a girls’ lacrosse meeting next Tuesday (3/14) in the cafeteria.

Tuesday, March 14th is PI Day.  There will be a school wide PI-Bee as one of the many activities planned for the day.  If you are interested in participating in the PI-Bee sign up with your math teacher.  The deadline to sign-up is tomorrow (3/10).  There may be a qualifying round on Monday, March 13th, IF NECESSARY.  The top three students who recite the most digits of PI will receive a prize.

The sophomore class will hold their 2nd annual Trivia Night for grades 7-12 on Wednesday, March 15th at 6 p.m. in the Z.  Advanced registration will be during lunches for $5 per person or $7 per person at the door the night of the event.  Get some friends together and join us!  Prizes will be provided for the winning team!

There will be Open House at Tanglewood on tomorrow and Saturday (3/10 & 3/11) from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. for Summer ‘Youth Friendly’ Positions available for the 2017 season! See Mr. Korte for information.

Seniors, let your parents know, that there is still space for Baby Ads in the yearbook.

Daily Announcements for 3/8/2017

Happy National Foreign Language Week!  If you are interested in participating in a scavenger hunt contest, see Madame Jarowski for a BINGO card.  There will be three prizes awarded.  Winners will be announced on Monday.

Fun fact #1 for National Foreign Language Week: There are 50,000 characters in the Chinese language. You’ll need to know about 2,000 to read a newspaper.

We will have a fan bus to the girls WMASS Semi-finals today (3/7) at the UMASS Cage. The bus will leave LMHS at 3:15 and return around 7:30. The cost for the bus is $5.00, but you will get your $5.00 back if you wear orange to the game!  Sign up today during lunch with Mr. Reilly.  If any staff members would like to join us as a chaperone, that would be appreciated.

We will have a fan bus to the girls WMASS Semi-finals on Tuesday March 7th at the UMASS Cage. The bus will leave LMHS at 3:15 and return around 7:30. The cost for the bus is $5.00, but you will get your $5.00 back if you wear orange to the game!  Sign up today or tomorrow during lunch with Mr. Reilly.  If any staff members would like to join us as a chaperone, that would be appreciated.

Western Mass Basketball begins tonight (3/3) for the Lady Wildcats.  The quarter finals will be at Lee at 7 p.m.  MIAA prices are in effect so everyone has to pay, but wear your black to support the girls and be eligible to win prizes.

Any boys interested in playing lacrosse this spring, there will be a brief meeting at 3:00 in the cafeteria on Monday March 6th.  Please let everyone know about this boys lacrosse meeting.

The Social Justice Club asks everyone to wear white in support of women's rights next Wednesday, March 8th.

The Social Justice Club will have a special meeting this today during 2nd lunch in Mrs. McEvoy's room.

The Food Pantry of Lee needs a few volunteers tomorrow (3/4).  Your community needs you!  Speak with Profe.

Congratulations to Devin Atwell as he is one of only 10 skiers from the Berkshires to qualify to race in the Massachusetts State Championships this coming Tuesday, March 7th.
