Daily Announcements for 10/31/2014

A reminder to all band members that wreath orders are due. Please turn them in by today at the latest.

The Halloween Dance for grades 9-12 will be tomorrow night (10/31) from 8-10 p.m.  $5 in costume, $7 no costume.  See Mrs. Wade or Mr. Fillio if you want to bring a guest.

All PE classes will report to the “Z” on Monday (11/3) for a movie due to the Blood Drive in the gym.

The 20th annual Prudential Spirit of Community awards are open to all students in grades 5-12 who have engaged in a volunteer activity that occurred at least in part after September 1, 2013.  The application is available online at http://spirit.prudential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit/.  Applications must be completed by November 4, 2014 and then submitted to the Mr. Korte.  Local honorees  can go on to state-level judging who are then eligible to receive $1000 award and an all-expense paid trip to Washington DC for recognition events.

The following college reps will be at LMHS next week, you can sign up on Naviance to meet with them: SUNY Potsdam, Dean College, Western New England University and Westfield State University.  Scholarships are now being posted on Naviance.

There will be a Driver's Ed class beginning next Monday (11/3) through Thursday, November 20 from 2:45-5:15 p.m. Any student who will be 15 years and 9 months old by November 3 can sign up for the class in the office.

All Tastefully Simple orders must be turned in to Mrs. Burton  by today (10/31), to assure delivery in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The catalogs and order forms are in the teachers’ room.  Micki McMurray, the wonderful Tastefully Simple consultant donates all proceeds to the Life Skills program.

Student planners are now available free on a first come, first serve basis for high school students.  Please stop by Mr. Brighenti's office if you are interested getting one.

Attention all 18 year olds: Voter registration cards will no longer be available in the guidance office. You must register in person at your town clerk's office.

Any male student who is 18 is required by law to register for selective service within 30 days of turning 18 and you must register to be eligible for financial aid.

Daily Announcements for 10/2/2014

There will be a meeting for anyone interested in joining Quiz Team today (10/2) after school in Mrs. Wade's Room.  And a meeting for anyone interested in joining Decathlon on Tuesday (10/7) after school in Mrs. Wade’s room.  Anyone who signed up to be part of Academic Decathlon should stop by Mr. Hall's Room to pick up information.

Any boys’ lacrosse players that did not get their letters and/or pins last spring for playing on the varsity team should see Mr. Reilly.

Lee High School student publication, Orange Ink, is back and seeking submissions for the first semester edition.  We would like creative work of all kinds to publish and show the world your talent.  There will be a meeting after school in the art room on Wed., October 1st with Mr. Schueler or Mrs. Clark if you are interested in being on the editorial/layout committee.

The following college reps will be at LMHS this week, you can sign up on Naviance to meet with them: University of Southern Maine, University of Rhode Island and Saint Anselm’s College.  Scholarships are now being posted on Naviance.

The 26th Construct Walk for the Homeless will be Sunday, October 19th, 2014. Registration 12:30 p.m., the walk is at 1 p.m. at Butternut in Great Barrington. For more information please see Mrs. Brouker
