Daily Announcements for 9/28/2018


Did you need more time on your summer reading assessment?  Were you absent on those days and didn't take it?  Makeups and extra time must be completed by Friday, October 5.  Go to the principal's office for more information.

Seniors, Lifetouch will be back on October 9th and 10th for retakes or missed senior formal pictures.  Please check your email for information or see Mrs. Armstrong. This will be the last opportunity for yearbook formal photos.

There will be an interest meeting for the trip to Costa Rica during April break 2020 on Thursday, October 4th at 6 pm in the LMHS Library. Any current 8th-11th grade student interested in traveling needs to attend this meeting along with a parent or guardian. See Sra. Antil with any questions. 

The following college reps will visit the high school today and next week.  Any junior or senior who wants to meet with the rep can sign up on Naviance or in the office with Ms. Mottarella:  today (9/28) MCLA at 9 a.m.; Mon. (10/1) Curry College at 12:30 p.m. and Emmanuel College at 1 p.m.; Wed. (10/3) University of New England at 11:30 a.m. and Landmark College at 12:45 p.m.; Thurs. (10/4) Dean College at 1:30 p.m.; and Fri. (10/5) Utica College at 8:30 a.m.

There will be a Quiz Team meeting Tues. (10/3) after school in Mrs. Wade's room.  Important info to be shared!!

On Wednesday, October 10th, the PSAT will be offered at LMHS. Juniors can take the PSAT for free in school on that day. Sophomores can sign up for a $20 fee. Sign-ups are in the main office, and the deadline to sign-up on Friday, October 5th.

On October 3rd, we will take a bus to the college fair at Berkshire Community College for interested juniors and seniors (seniors will have first priority if space on the bus becomes an issue). Bus will leave LMHS at 8:50am (after 1st period) and return by 11:20am (in time for 5th period). There is a $5 bus fee and all permission slips and money MUST be turned in to the main office by Friday, September 28th. No late sign ups will be accepted.

There will be a Financial Aid Planning Night - October 4th on Thursday, October 4th, at 5:30 pm in the Duffin Theater at Lenox Memorial Middle and High School. This program is coordinated by the Massachusetts Educational Financing Authority (MEFA). Information is available on the guidance webpage.

All students who are 18 years old can register to vote.  The deadline is Wednesday, October 17.  You can register with the Town Clerk at your local Town Hall or you can register online at

All 18-year-old male students must register for the Selective Service which you can do at www.sss.gov.

The 30th Annual Fall Festival of Shakespeare will hold tryouts today (9/20) from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m.  Come as often as you can. 

There will be a Helping Hands meeting after school today (9/20) in Mrs. Wade's room.  Open to anyone grades 9 - 12 who wants to be involved with community projects.

It is time to order your Yearbook at the year's lowest price and get four free icons. Yearbook staff members will be outside the cafeteria during both lunches today (9/13). Make sure to pick up your flyer and order form, or bring in your deposit.

Attention all seniors: Please sign up with an officer to bring in food and other items for the Taste of Lee fundraiser. All items need to be brought in to Señora's room by the end of the day today (9/13). See Señora with any questions. 

Anyone interested in the House Rep position should turn in forms to a House Teacher by today (9/13). A copy of the form is linked on the House Classroom site.

The following college reps will visit the high school next week.  Any junior or senior who wants to meet with the rep can sign up on Naviance or in the office with Ms. Mottarella:  Thursday (9/13) UMass Amherst at 11 a.m.

We will be running a food drive, please bring non-perishables and toiletries to your house teacher by Friday 9/14.

Sign-up sheets for Quiz Team, Academic Decathlon and Mock Trial are in the front office. Please sign up by next Tuesday (9/11).

Anyone interested in the House Rep position should turn in forms to a House Teacher by next Thursday, September 13. A copy of the form is linked on the House Classroom site.

Students driving to school are required to have a parking pass on their vehicle in order to park in the student parking lot.  You may pick up a registration form in the principal’s office.  If you already have a sticker on your vehicle from last year you do not need a new one.

Please see Ms. Clark in the Art Room by the end of this week (9/7) if you are interested in creating a logo for your house and want to collaborate on the House Crest design. Your design will be due to Ms. Clark by the end of September.

LMHS Students are invited to audition for “Oliver” in the LES CAFETERIA on September 11 at 3:30.
 
There will be a Driver’s Ed class beginning Monday, Sept. 17 thru Friday, Sept. 28 from 2:45-5:45.  You must be 15 years and 9 months old by the date that the class starts.  You can sign up in the main office.

All 18-year-old male students must register for the Selective Service which you can do at www.sss.gov.

Just a reminder that today will be school picture day.  Payments must be made at the camera if you want to order pictures.  All students must have pictures taken for your ID’s.  Flyers are available in the main office and info is on the school website.
