Daily Announcements for 10/19/2016

Attention 18-year-olds  – today is the last day to register to vote in the Presidential election.  You can go to the Town Hall in your town to register or online.  If you register online, you may be asked for your license or learner’s permit number.

All 18-year-old male students must register for the Selective Service which you can do at www.sss.gov.

Sophomores, if you didn't already turn in your Yankee Candle fundraising forms and money, please get them in today to Sra. Antil or Mrs. Naventi. 

There will be a sophomore class officer meeting tomorrow (10/19) at 2:30 pm in Señora's classroom. 

All current NHS members there will be a quick meeting after school tomorrow (10/20) in Mr. Hall's room.  All NHS candidates, please stop by and see Mr. Hall before the end of the day today (10/19).

There will be a Driver’s Ed course from Tuesday, November 1 thru Friday, November 18.  Any student who will be 15 years 9 months old by November 1st can sign up in the main office or call 413-442-0502.

Sophomores: It’s time to order your Class Rings!  Ring orders will be taken on Tuesday, October 25th during both lunches in the cafeteria.  A $50 deposit is requested when placing your order.  Design your custom ring or other customized class jewelry on-line at Jostens.com or pick up a jewelry packet in the main office.

Reminder to all 8th, 10th, and 11th grades: PSATs are this morning (10/19).  You can check postings in the lobby for room locations.

The Tastefully Simple fund raiser, for the benefit of the LMHS Functional Life Skills program, will be held throughout the remainder of October and first week of November.  All orders will be placed on November 4th, assuring delivery in time for the Thanksgiving holiday. The catalogs and order forms will be in the teachers’ room.  All profits are donated directly to the Life Skills Program. Thanks so much for your continued support, it is so appreciated! 

Yearbook: Back to School offer ends this Friday your deposits must be in before the deadline. Seniors check your school e-mail for the senior survey. Formal retakes by Lifetouch are next week you must have an appointment.

There will be a Prom Committee meeting tomorrow (10/20) after school in Ms. Ely’s room (D123).

Any senior who would like to be an alternate for the November Lola Jaffee trip should see Mrs. Verdi ASAP. If you don't get called to go, you are guaranteed a spot on the spring trip.

Middle school students can participate in the Lions International Peace Poster.  Students must by ages 11-13 by November 15.  Posters would be due by November 14th.  See Mr. Boule for more information.

The following college reps will visit the high school this week.  Any junior or senior who wants to meet with the rep can sign up on Naviance or in the office with Ms. Mottarella: today (10/19) Elms College at 9:30 a.m. and Mildred Elley at 11 a.m.; Thursday (10/20) Southern Vermont College at 12:30 p.m.
